The TACE Center: Region IV strives to maximize quality training and development opportunities for employed rehabilitation personnel in the eight States in the U.S. Southeast Region.

State Leadership & Regional Advisory Councils

To ensure input from all those concerned with the issues affecting the employment outcomes of persons with disabilities in the Southeast region and the quality of the services they receive, the TACE Region IV has formed a Regional Advisory Council (RAC) and State Leadership Councils (SLC) in each of the eight States in the U.S. Southeast Region to provide guidance regarding their states’ needs and priorities for technical assistance (TA) and continuing education (CE); how best to meet those needs and evaluation of the success; and information dissemination gained through the TACE Region IV.

2010 Needs Assessment for Region IV
— Your Input is Important!

The TACE Center: Region IV is conducting an on-going Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) training needs assessment for the Southeast Region IV states [AL, FL, GA, KY, MS, NC, SC, TN]. Based on reviews of state plans, monitoring reports, interviews with State VR personnel, and input from the region, TACE State Leadership Councils  and other stakeholders, we will identify and prioritize the technical assistance and continuing education needs in each state and develop a work plan to address those needs.

The TACE Region IV webinars use the IDEAL Conference system, which is one of the few systems accessible to and usable by a diverse audience. Other options to participate to the webinar are also available, such as real-time captioning, a phone bridge, and a web client application. Test Your Access to the Webinar Ahead of Time

Test your access to the webinar system ahead of time to ensure a successful webinar experience. We currently offer two  testing/systems check sessions on the Monday and Tuesday before the event from 1 – 2 pm (Eastern) / 12-1 pm (Central) --- unless otherwise noted.  For questions and additional help in connecting to the webinar, please contact the TACE Region IV via email tacesoutheast@law.syr.edu or phone (866) 518-7730 [voice/tty].


Continuing Education Events for VR Personnel

The TACE Center: Region IV provides various trainings opportunities for continuing education for Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors, including the option for CRCC and/or CEU credit.



Technical Assistance

Current TA Topics & Projects

In response to needs identified by VR agencies in the eight States in the U.S. Southeast Region, the TACE Center: Region IV is offering in-depth individualized technical assistance on various topics.  Additional topics and projects will be offered in response to newly-identified needs in late FY2009 and FY2010.

Developing Communities of Excellence (COE)

The TACE Center: Region IV will offer customized training and technical assistance to the eight States in the U.S. Southeast Region that will lead to the development of “Communities of Excellence.

Each state will be asked to identify a geographic area to become a Community of Excellence that demonstrates improved collaboration between public systems and employers. The TACE Innovations Team will lead these collaborative efforts in working with Vocational Rehabilitation and Services for the Blind personnel.
