Jamie Mitus
Hofstra University

Dr. Jamie Mitus is the Program Director and Assistant Professor at Hofstra University, New York in the Rehabilitation Counseling Program. She also serves as one of the co-principal investigators of the Employment Services Systems Research and Training Center, a project supported by the National Institute on Disability Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR), U.S. Department of Education. Her project is investigating workplace socialization from an organizational perspective in relation to employees with disabilities. Other research interests of hers include organizational adjustment of rehabilitation counseling professionals and the psychosocial issues of individuals with traumatic brain injury.

Dr. Mitus has made numerous presentations at local and national conferences. She has three publications and has also written two book chapters which were released in the fall of 2008. Dr. Mitus earned a Masters of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling in 1993 and a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Psychology with an emphasis in rehabilitation counselor education from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, Illinois in 2003.
