Dr. Cozetta D. Shannon, Ph.D., CRC is an assistant professor of vocational rehabilitation counseling within the College of Education at Troy University-Montgomery. Dr. Shannon received her Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counselor Education from Michigan State University in 2009. Dr. Shannon’s vocational experiences include working as a contract mental health counselor, assistive technology trainer, and vocational expert for the Social Security Administration. Her research has examined attitudes toward persons with disabilities, best practices related to multicultural education, and retention issues among students and professionals within the field of rehabilitation counseling. She also has a strong interest in the impact of mentoring on the levels of job satisfaction and motivation among rehabilitation professionals and students. She is a member of various professional organizations and believes in the power of networking and collaborating to reach common goals.
